The Edenton Pumpkin Tradition

Since the community of Edenton began in 2007, we have had an annual pumpkin carving contest. Pumpkins are delivered in mid-October and each residence can submit their carved creation to be judged in the contest by displaying it on their front porch before the end of the month. Here are a few cool ones from years past:

Wow! Needless to say, we've got some really creative folks out here, and we are expecting to see some awesome jack-o-lanterns lighting up the neighborhood this year!

We decided to kick off the month by having a Pumpkin Pickup Party, so that residents could come out, bring their kids and pets, enjoy some Halloween treats, and choose the best pumpkin they could find! We had them all delivered to the North Green at the Lofts and created a fun fall scene with hay bales and mums.

Homeowners showed up by the carfull to make their selections and hang out with their neighbors, enjoying the awesome weather!

Baby Arden came out to pick out her very first pumpkin!

Everyone had so much fun getting into the fall spirit, and we can't wait to see what is in store for the pumpkins this year!

Homeowner Spotlight: Rick and Jessica Mann

We Love Rick and Jessica!

Their story is so cute and they are such fun neighbors!

Here is a little bit about them, according to Rick:

Jessica and I met while walking our weenie dogs at our old apartment in Jackson,MS. Simple and very corny, but true. After meeting, Jessica spent a semester in Hattiesburg, MS. Upon her return to Jackson, she just "happened" to move in next door to me in the same apartments. We soon got re-aquainted, and she seemed to tame me little by little. I asked Jess to marry me in May in Gulf Shores, then the wedding followed in March at Fort Morgan.

We chose the Lofts because of the unique design, and the ability to choose what we wanted to go in our home.

I believe the best part of living at the lofts so far are the people here. Everyone we have met have been extemely nice and open. I enjoy walking out with the dogs and speaking to the neighbors in the community. Not to mention we are in a prime location! Some great places to eat are literally right across the street! We have everything we need within just a few mile radius.

Thanks, guys!

Have you been to the ELofts?

The Lofts at Edenton, also known as "ELofts" are the coolest new affordable luxury community in Birmingham! They are located 1 mile behind the Home Depot on Highway 280, within minutes of the Summit, downtown, and the Galleria!
Within the community, you will find multiple parks, gardens, sidewalks, and cool eco-friendly features such as rain gardens! These features collect runoff water and use it to populate the area with native plants such as Cahaba lilies.
Once you get inside the Lofts though, they get even more unique! The kitchens feature gorgeous granite, stainless steel appliances, and shaker style cabinets to fit in with the Lofts style. But, the true charm is in the details. The homes also feature exposed brick walls made of "Old Red" brick, a reclaimed antique brick pulled off of old buildings in disrepair. The living rooms have 10' exposed beam ceilings which add to the urban feel.

On this blog, we will share more fun features of the ELofts along with spotlights on our AMAZING homeowners! You'll see why so many people have chosen to make the Lofts at Edenton their home!
